In an exclusive interview with the author, Meena Kandasamy talks about her polemical nature of writing, her preoccupation with the theme of caste, social exclusion and marginalization, and view of translation as a mode of representation of the gruesome social reality. She also admits of the influences Erica Jong , Maya Angelou,Sylvia Plath, Kamala Das have upon her writing and candidly speaks of her aniticipation of the changes in the sociological paradigm as envisaged by the dalits in future years.
