Sri Lankan English Literature and the Sri Lankan People, 1917-2003
Abstract
This book is the first history of Sri Lankan English Literature from its beginnings to the present. It examines important public events as reflected in the literature surch as nationalism, the insurgencies of 1971 and 1988-89, the ethnic conflict and womens discourse. It also surveys the literature by genres: the novel, short story, drama and poetry.
